Winning entry in the national design competition
Located on very prominent site next to the Supreme Court of Canada in Ottawa, the Memorial was to become a landmark and space for remembrance of 100 million victims of communist ideology worldwide.
A symbol that would be adequate to reflect crimes committed under communist rule does not yet exist, and even if it did, it would never be compelling enough to reflect the reality and barbarity of these crimes.
