Located on the south shore of Mountain Basin Lake in the Parry Sound region, the cottage is designed to maximize views of the lake and surrounding landscape. The new structure reinterprets the form and orientation of the original cottage previously on the site, maintaining its lake-facing position and expansive exterior deck.
The interior program includes seven bedrooms, six bathrooms, a library, a squash court, and a 20-foot-high fireplace anchoring the open, double-height living space. Exterior wood cladding allows the building to integrate harmoniously with its natural setting, reflecting the textures and tones of the densely forested hills that define the shoreline.
